TBRHSC Youth Injury Prevention Program
The TBRHSC Youth Injury Prevention Program is delivered twice per month during the school year to local and regional high schools, engaging students in grades 9–12.
This two-hour, interactive session combines immersive in-class learning with real-world applications to help youth recognize, understand, and prevent serious injuries. Students will engage directly with community experts and gain awareness of local resources that support their health, safety, and well-being.
Sessions are currently held off-site at the Northwest Region Prehospital Care Program Simulation and Training Centre, located at 44 Algoma Street South, Thunder Bay, ON.
Topics Covered Include:
- Risk awareness and management
- Substance use and impairment-related risks
- Sextortion, dating violence, and online safety
- Injury prevention and harm reduction strategies
- Road safety
- Mental wellness and coping skills
